Let’s celebrate World Kindness Day!

Your mental health is just as important as physical health and needs to be looked after. The increased strain from worry, anxiety and isolation caused by the pandemic has a negative impact on our mental health.
There are simple and easy ways to help improve your mental wellbeing.

Interestingly, the simple act of being kind to others has been shown to have a positive effect on mental health.
Not only are you helping boost someone’s happiness, but also giving your own a massive boost. Studies have shown that kindness, compassion and giving can improve your overall happiness, reduce anxiety, improve relationships and lead to living a longer life.
During a time of isolation, giving or receiving an act of kindness can help strengthen our sense of community and belonging. It is the contagion we need right now!
People are more likely to repeat the behaviour if they receive or witness an act of kindness.

Here are some simple acts of kindness you could do this World Kindness Day:
• Pay it forward e.g. buy coffee for the person behind you
• Send a thank-you note to someone
• Volunteer
• Donate items to a charity shop
• Smile at strangers (even if it is through a face mask!)
• Make a monetary donation to your favourite charity
